BMX...week 2

Here are photos from week 2 of BMX racing. As you can see we changed Gav's bike to his yellow Trek bike. We had to remove all of the reflectors, the chain guard and the mud guard things. He raced really well on his yellow bike. You can kind of see from this photo that he go AIR on the first jump. He got more air then what you can see here, but Cory still got a great shot.

There are 3 qualifying races to make it to the main event. The winners of the qualifying races sit out until the main event.

Gav won the first qualifying race. He got to sit out the other 2 qualifying races till the final.

For the final race there were only 3 boys...Gavin, Charlie, and Cole (someone we met at the track). There weren't that many people racing this weekend, which was really quite nice.

The final race went Cole 1st, Gavin 2nd, and Charlie 3rd.

It will be really interesting to see how the boys grow and get better over the next few years. The racers all raced really well. They came in by how good their bikes were. Of all the racers, I think Charlie worked the hardest. If Charlie had a larger bike like Gav's he would have kicked some butt.


Here is Gav after the race with his first Trophy. He got to pick the color of his trophy. He was so excited to get it. He even ate dinner with it...
