Yearly Check-ups...

Here is Mikayla's 1 and only shot...

Well it had been a while since the kids had been to the doctors for just a regular check up. We decided that we should get them in to make sure all of the shots were up to date and that everything else is on track. Mikayla is slightly above average on her height and weight. We really thought that she was taller then that. As for Gavin he is really tall for his age and under weight. The doctor said that he is healthy though.

Mikayla only needed 1 shot to be caught up. Now as for Gavin...poor Gav needed 5 shots. He needed his 4 and 5 year old shots. His shots included the ones needed for starting Kindergarden. Well the doctor gave us the option to split them up in two visits but Cory and I thought that if Gav knew why he was going back to the doctor he would freak out. We decided that we would just go ahead and get it over with.

We decided to have Gavin go first...Cory had to hold down his upper body and arms, I held his hips and the nurse pinned his legs. Gav was screaming at the top of his lungs. It was really bad. I am so thankful that he doesn't have to have anymore shots till he is 10.

As for Mikayla she decided to have hers in her arm. She sat on Daddy's lap while the nurse stuck her. She was wiggling really bad and it was almost more painful then it had to be. If you ask her it wasn't that bad.

We decided to bribe the kids. We told Gav that he could get two toys and Mikayla decide that she wanted to have and Ice Cream. Well after it was all said and done Gav decided that it was more important to have a Happy Meal from McDonal's then to get toys. So both kids were rewarded for their bravery (or just putting up with the torture).
