We're Back...

We have made it home from our camping trip. I think that this was the best thing for our family to do. We had an amazing time. It was a short trip in the number of days we were gone, but it was plenty long. We were able to see everything that we wanted to see and do everything that we had wanted to do.

Our first experience in a tent for that many days wasn't all that bad. Our campsite had a slight southward slope and that was a bit interesting, but the area was just stunning, which made up for the slope. The sky was so blue and the pine tress were so green, and the big white puffy clouds, which are my favorite (the cotton ball clouds) were just amazing.

We didn't have any neighbors for the first couple of days, but then this nice family with two 6 year old girls came. It was a nice change for the kids to have someone to play with. The kids hit it off and had a great time mini golfing and swimming.

Let me tell I love camp cooking. The clean up isn't much fun, but Cory did most of that. We had some yummy meals... Pancakes, omelets, bacon, steaks, spaghetti, hot dogs... I think the omelets were our favorite. We made pepper jack cheese and bacon omelets...Yum Yum.

Some of the highlights of our trip are Mount Rushmore and searching for Bison. Both were great. Mikayla's favorite part was meeting the girls Mia and Gillian. Gav's favorite part was Rushmore Cave, the playground, swimming, mini golf, and everything else...

We had a great time, but we are really glad to be back home sleeping in our own beds. I have put together two slide shows of pictures of our trip... Enjoy!
