Here is the trip recap...
One thing that Cory and I love is Rock Band... Nicole had never played Rock Band, so she had to join the Band! Here Cory and Nicole are rockin' out...
Pam brought me a treat...a pancake puff pan... We just had to try it out! Here Gav is showing us his pancake puff. The puff were really yummy. We made pizza puffs, peach jam puffs, chocolate chip puffs, regular puffs, and brownie puffs. They were all good, but we had some trouble with the brownie puffs... I'll have to try them again some other time.
Friday... Moab, UT
The kids were out of school on Friday, and Cory took the day off of work so that we could go and visit one of our favorite places...Moab
Here are Andy, Pam, Nicole, Mikayla, and Gavin in front of one of the beautiful arches... The photos turned out so nice due to the really clear blue sky... It was a great day to go, not to hot or to cold...just perfect...

Saturday...
Early Saturday morning was Fruita's 2nd annual Truck N Treat. This event is really cool. The city closes off part of Aspen (the main drag) and they bring in lots of huge trucks. There were oil trucks, cement trucks, a fire truck, swat vehicle, army vehicles, buses, limos, and a whole lot more.
We took Maggie with us to the Truck N Treat. So above the kids are standing in front of some sort of Army vehicle.
After the Truck N Treat we went to soccer, but I don't have any photos from that... After soccer Mikayla had her first piano recital...
Here is Mikayla playing Ode to Joy. She did a really good job. I wasn't sure if she would do it, but she did great. Look at how big she is getting.
Sunday...BMX racing
Here are Auntie Cole and Mikayla waiting for the races to begin.
This is the same day of racing that I have already blogged about...the one with the big spill.
After BMX we raced home to get ready for Mikayla's birthday party. We all had to pitch in for that... as always I was running behind and couldn't have done it without every one's help.
Mikayla's cake was finished right when the party was starting... I cut it really close...but it turned out cute and she loved it...
Monday....
Mikayla's birthday was on Monday... so of course we had a birthday breakfast for her, bacon and an English Muffin.
After Mikayla was off to school we went out to breakfast at Black Bear diner. It was a yummy breakfast. From breakfast we stopped by Wendy's for Mikayla's birthday lunch. We all went to have lunch with Mikayla. It made me laugh when one of the kids made a comment about all of the parents at lunch...We were all there and Ted and Stacey were there having lunch with Nathan... we did take up a lot of room, but our kids love when we have lunch with them.
After lunch Cory took Pam, Andy, and Nicole to the Colorado National Monument... The Monument is our other favorite place and it's right in our backyard...

Tuesday...
Cory was able to get Tuesday off, so he decided to take everyone to the Mesa. The Grand Mesa is the same spot we took all of the pretty fall foliage photos... Unfortunately when they were there the "fall" had already happened. They trees just looked dead. Cory was bummed that there wasn't much to look at.
Nicole did get some great photos of lakes...I don't think the photos would have turned out as well with leaves on the trees... so that was a perk right?
Here is Nicole, Mikayla, and Papa standing in front of one of the many lakes on the Mesa. They say there are 1,000 lakes on the Mesa...that's a lot...
Well that was the trip in a nutshell. We all had a really good time. We got to do a lot. I'm sure everyone needs a vacation from their vacation... I hope that next time Nicole can bring Craig to enjoy our beautiful Colorado scenery.
